An alternative to Xceed
If you already sell through Xceed and are looking at what else exists, the difference worth understanding first is how you are charged.
People searching for an alternative to Xceed are usually not unhappy with the software. They have added up a season of per-ticket charges and found the total larger than they expected. Our charge is a flat amount per month with nothing per ticket sold and no commission on your takings, and payments run through your own provider account so the money reaches you directly. What that saves you depends entirely on your own numbers, which is why this page ends with a calculation rather than a claim.
Why organisers look elsewhere
Three reasons come up repeatedly. The first is cost that scales: a charge per ticket is largest at a sell-out, which is the event you were happiest about. The second is where the money sits, because a platform that collects on your behalf decides when you see your own takings. The third is the door, where a gate without a reliable network needs scanning that keeps working offline. None of these show up in a demonstration; all of them show up in a season.
How switching actually works
You can run both for a while, which is how most organisations do it. Set up your next event with us while your current sales continue on Xceed, connect your own payment account, and share the new link when you are ready. Tickets already sold elsewhere stay valid there, so nothing has to be migrated on a deadline. Most organisers switch between seasons rather than mid-run, and keep the old account open until the last event on it has passed.
The figures side by side
| Example | Xceed | Passavo | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fundraising dinner: 250 tickets at €25.00 | €187.50 | €19.00 that one event unlocked | €168.50 |
| Workshop series: 60 places at €45.00 | €81.00 | €0.00 within the free plan | €81.00 |
| Concert in a hall: 800 tickets at €18.00 | €432.00 | €19.00 that one event unlocked | €413.00 |
| Guided tours in time slots: 1.200 tickets at €12.00 | €432.00 | €19.00 that one event unlocked | €413.00 |
Our amounts exclude VAT. With Passavo you connect your own Mollie, Stripe or Bancontact Pro account: your visitor's money comes straight to you, not first into an account of the platform. You can unlock a single event up to 2 times per calendar year; if you run big events more often, you choose a plan from €9.00 a month. One thing to keep in mind with the difference: according to their pricing page, the payment provider's transaction costs are already included in the Xceed amount, whereas with Passavo you still pay them to your own provider. They differ per payment method.

Frequently asked questions
Do we have to move everything at once?
No. Run your next event with us while the current one finishes on Xceed. Tickets already sold there keep working there, so there is no migration deadline to meet.
What happens to tickets people have already bought?
They stay valid on the platform that issued them, and you scan them there. Only new sales come to us, which is why switching between seasons is the easiest moment.
Is it cheaper for us specifically?
That depends on how many tickets you sell and at what price. The figures above use published rates, so you can put your own numbers in and check rather than take our word for it.
The figures for Xceed come from their own public pricing page, read on the date shown with the table. Rates change, and terms can differ for your country or your type of organisation, so check them on their site before you decide.
