Credit on the pass, cash stays at home

Your visitor puts money on their wallet pass and pays with it all night. At the bar the pass goes under the scanner and the amount comes off.

The same pass that carries their ticket carries their balance. At the bar your volunteer scans that pass, taps the order and that is it — no change to count, no fifty-euro note on the first round, no queue standing still because someone is looking for their wallet.

Passavo is a ticketing, point-of-sale and scanning platform for clubs, associations, visitor attractions and small events. You sell tickets online in your own ticket shop, at the counter on a tablet and in timed slots, and you scan them at the door with a phone — even without a network. It costs a flat amount per month: free to start, then from €9.00 a month, excluding VAT. There is no per-ticket fee and no commission on your revenue. On the free plan every event sells up to 100 paid tickets and free events are unlimited; unlocking one bigger event costs €19.00, once. Payments run through your own Mollie, Stripe or Bancontact Pro account and land straight in your own bank account.

What it gains you

Shorter queues

Settling an order takes as long as a scan. You do not notice the difference with the first customer but with the hundredth, at the moment everyone gets thirsty at once.

No cash behind the bar

No cash box, no walk to the treasurer for change and no total that fails to add up at the end. What comes in, comes in on your own account.

A reckoning that adds up

Every order hangs on a pass and lands in the till journal, next to your door sales. You see per device what went over the bar, with nobody sitting there counting.

And what it does not do

Cashless does not fill your room and it does not save you staff: somebody still has to pour. It works at your event with your passes — the pass from the festival next door is not read. And whoever does not spend their balance keeps a balance: agree in advance whether you refund it and put that on your poster, because that is the question you will get afterwards.

What it costs

No percentage on the balance your visitors top up. That is the habit in this market and it is exactly what we do not do: your visitor's money is not our revenue.

On the Pro plan cashless is included, with nothing to pay on top and no ceiling.

Bought separately, per event

Per event rather than per month, excluding VAT. The number of paid tickets for that event sets the step; free registrations do not count.

What organisers usually ask here

How does a visitor put money on their pass?

In two ways, and your visitor chooses. Online: through the link on their wallet pass, in their ticket email or in your shop, they put money on their pass and pay with the payment methods you already offer in your shop (e.g. Bancontact, card, Apple Pay) — the balance is there before they even reach the bar. Or at a top-up point you staff yourself, on the same tablet as your till: your volunteer scans their ticket, taps in an amount and takes the money — in cash, on the terminal or with Bancontact Pay.

Does everyone have to pay by pass?

No. Cashless sits alongside cash and card, and you decide whether one bar takes both. A small canteen switches it on for its busiest night only.

What if somebody loses their pass?

The balance hangs on the pass, not on the phone it was sitting on. Their ticket is in their email as well, so they fetch it back from there. If the code has ended up in the wrong hands, you block the pass in the back office: from that moment nobody can pay with it any more. As soon as you recognise the owner, you refund them what is left.

For a small night cash is quicker to set up; from a few hundred visitors on you earn the setup back in queueing time. If you are unsure, write to us with your numbers.
