Your plan and your limits
What the bar at the top of your screen means, where you stand against your limits, and what to do about it.

Sometimes a coloured bar appears at the top of your screen with one sentence and one button. This article explains what it says and what to do about it. That is all it is: one message at a time, and always something you can sort out in two minutes.
What the plans cost and how to choose one is covered in Your plan, your invoices and pausing.

Where you see the bar
- at the top of every screen of your back office, so you also see it on a Thursday evening when you are selling tickets and never open Subscription;
- on your dashboard, as the Your plan tile, with the figures;
- at the top of the Subscription page, under Next step, with the button that does the work.
It is the same message three times. So you only have to read one of them.
Only the owner and the admin see it. A volunteer scanning at the door and a colleague at the counter see nothing — they cannot act on it, and it would only be in the way during the work.
If you are an admin, you do see the bar: an outstanding invoice is your job, and you can pay it. If it is about something that changes the plan itself — switching, cancelling, pausing, setting up the automatic payment — the Subscription page shows one sentence saying that only an owner does that.
Hiding the bar
To the right of the button there is a cross. Click it and the bar is gone for one day on this device. After that it comes back for as long as there is something to do.
Three things you cannot hide, and that is deliberate:
- a grace period that is running;
- an overdue invoice;
- a ceiling that has been reached.
Those are the three where your sales really will stop. That does not belong behind a cross.
What it can say
"X days of trial left"
You are trying a paid plan and no payment method is set up yet. Click Set up payment method: you land on the secure screen of our payment provider, you fill in your details, and that is it.
You only pay after the trial period. Setting it up now therefore costs you nothing and makes sure your sales carry on seamlessly.

Three days before the end you also get one email about this. One, not three.
"Your trial period has ended"
Your trial is over and there is still no payment method. The bar says how many days you have left before the sale of paid tickets stops.
Your shop stays online, free registrations keep working, and nothing is ever deleted. Set up your payment method and everything runs again straight away.
"There is an invoice waiting" or "Your invoice is overdue"
Click Pay your invoice. You can also pay through the link in the invoice email, or transfer the amount with the invoice number as the reference.
"Your subscription is paused"
You paused it yourself. While the pause lasts you work on the free plan: no counter point of sale, and the ceiling per event. Resuming is one click and takes effect immediately.
"You are at X % of …"
You are running up against a limit of your plan. Which limit it is, is written right there:
| What is counted | On which plan |
|---|---|
| paid tickets of your busiest event | the free plan (100 per event) |
| paid tickets this year | Start (3,000 a year) |
| individually paid events this year | the free plan (2 a year) |
The fullest counter is always the one shown: it is the one that will fill up first, and therefore the only one that helps you.
Free events never count. However many registrations you get for a walk or a quiz you charge nothing for — none of it ends up in any counter.
The bar gets more urgent in three steps:
- from 60 % a friendly message: you are at so many per cent, and a larger plan removes that ceiling;
- from 90 % it turns yellow: almost full;
- at 100 % a grace period of fourteen days begins. Your sales simply carry on during those two weeks — we do not shut down a dinner that is happening tonight.
At 80 % and at 100 % you also get an email about this, once each time.
"Sales of paid tickets are on hold"
The grace period is over and nothing has changed. Only the sale of paid tickets is on hold; your shop stays online, free registrations keep working, and nothing has been deleted.
Two ways out, both effective immediately:
- pay for one event individually (€ 19, one-off, up to twice per calendar year);
- take a larger plan.
What should I do now?
| What it says | What you do |
|---|---|
| X days of trial left | Set up payment method |
| Trial period ended | Set up payment method |
| Invoice waiting or overdue | Pay the invoice |
| Subscription paused | Resume, or leave it until you sell again |
| X % of your ceiling | Nothing, or take a larger plan |
| Sales are on hold | Pay for the event individually, or upgrade |
Common mistakes
Hiding the bar and forgetting about it. Hiding lasts one day. And what stops your sales cannot be hidden anyway.
Thinking your sales stop dead at 100 %. They do not. You get fourteen days first. An event happening tonight is never shut down.
Letting the trial end without a payment method. You notice it on the evening it is busy, and that is the worst possible evening to find out. Two minutes beforehand is enough.
Reading someone else's counter. On the free plan every event has its own counter. The bar shows the busiest one; your other events stand apart from it.
What if …
What if I don't see the bar but my colleague does?
Then you have the counter or scanner role; those do not see the subscription. If you need the invoices, ask the owner for the admin role; see Team members and roles.
What if I didn't get an email?
The emails go to your organisation's billing address, and otherwise to your contact address. If nobody reads that address, change it under Settings → Organisation.
What if I want to stay on the free plan?
You may, and it stays free. You then stay under 100 paid tickets per event, or you pay for that one busy event individually. The bar disappears as soon as the counter drops back below the threshold — the yearly counter starts again on 1 January.
What if I have just upgraded?
Then the bar is gone straight away. It reads your situation again on every page; there is nothing to refresh or to hide.
Frequently asked questions
Does hiding it cost me anything? No. Nothing changes about your plan or your sales; the bar is just out of sight for a while.
Do I get an email for every message? No. Only at 80 % and 100 % of a limit, and once three days before the end of your trial. Once each time.
Do my visitors see any of this? No. The bar only exists in your back office. Nothing changes in your ticket shop.
Why is there an amount in the bar? Because otherwise you would have to go and look up what the next step costs. The amount comes straight from the plans and is always excluding VAT.
