Setting up a venue
Every field of the venue screen explained — name, address, VAT set, entrance, photo, time zone, the venue guide, opening hours and closing days.

A venue is the place your visitor comes to: your hall, your museum, your grounds. What a venue is and when you create more than one, you can read in Organisation and venue. This article walks through the screen itself, field by field.
What you need beforehand
- The Owner or Administrator role.
- The address of the place, and the hours it is open.
The list
In the left-hand menu, click Settings → Venues. For each venue you see the Name, the Town, whether the Opening hours have been filled in, how many Products hang on it and whether it is Active. With the columns button you can also switch on Time zone and Coordinates.
You create a new one with New venue. You open an existing one with Edit.
The venue
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Name | As your visitor knows the place. That name appears on the ticket |
| Short name | Only for internal use. Filled in by itself from the name; only letters, numbers and dashes |
| Street and number, Postcode, Town, Country | The address of the place |
| VAT set | Which VAT rates apply at this place. If you leave it empty, the venue follows your organisation |
| Latitude, Longitude | Exactly where the place is. Optional |
| Entrance | "Gate A", "Side entrance". Appears on the ticket |
| Photo of the place | The façade, the hall or the grounds, 4 MB at most |
| Time zone | Determines what "today" means for the time slots of this venue |
| Active | An inactive venue disappears from the selection lists; what has already been sold stays |
A few fields deserve a bit more explanation.
VAT set. A VAT rate depends on the place where you sell. If you choose a different country under Country, we straight away suggest the VAT set of that country. It is a suggestion: check it once with your bookkeeper. All the products of this venue follow what you choose here. See VAT sets.
Latitude and longitude. With those two numbers the ticket appears by itself on your visitor's lock screen when they are nearby. You do not have to look them up: first fill in the address and click Find coordinates. Then check the result quickly on a map, because the same street name exists in more than one town. If the button finds nothing, or it is not there, fill in the numbers yourself or leave them empty; the ticket works without them too.
Photo of the place. That photo goes on the ticket in the wallet when the product itself has no poster. A portrait photo works best. See Wallet passes.
Venue guide
This section is collapsed; click the title to open it. It contains Phone, Email, Website, Accessibility, Parking, Public transport, Order food and What you may bring in.

Every field you fill in becomes a button on your visitor's wallet pass. What you leave empty takes over your organisation's link. Nothing here is required.
If there is a notice about your plan at the top of this section, the buttons do not go on the pass yet. What you fill in is still saved.
Opening hours
For each weekday you add one or more blocks with Add a block, each with a From time and an Until time. A lunch break is therefore simply two blocks: 10:00 until 12:00 and 13:00 until 17:00. A day without blocks is closed.
The opening hours limit which time slots you can create. If you leave them empty, nothing is limited. See Time slots.
Exceptions
This section is collapsed too. Here you enter a date that differs from an ordinary week: a closing day, or a day with different hours.
- Click Add an exception.
- Choose the Date.
- Fill in From and Until for different hours, or leave them both empty: then the venue is closed that day.
An exception takes precedence over the ordinary weekday.
Saving
Click Create (for a new venue) or Save changes (for an existing one).
No longer using a venue
Switch Active off. The venue then disappears from the selection lists, and everything already sold there stays untouched.
Do not delete a venue once anything has happened with it. Deleting also wipes its time slots and the till sessions that belonged to that venue, and you cannot undo that.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to fill in the coordinates? No. Everything works without coordinates; only the ticket then does not appear on the lock screen by itself.
Can I still change the short name later? Better not. It is only filled in by itself once, precisely so that it does not change when you change the name.
Who sees this screen? The owner and the administrator.
