Making your shop look good

A logo, a cover photo, and a photo and a good description for each event. Your shop looks cared for, and your visitors buy faster.

Making your shop look good

Your shop is often the first thing people see of your event. Four things turn it into a shop people like to buy from: your logo, a cover photo, a photo for each event and a short description. Allow half an hour. You do not need to know anything about websites.

Want to see what it can look like first? Have a look at the demo shop of a club or the one of a visitor centre.

What your visitor sees

Where What is shown Where it comes from
At the top Your name, your logo, one short sentence and a wide photo Settings → Organisation → Look and feel
For each event or product A card with a photo, the date, the place, a description, the price and how many places are left The product itself
At the bottom of the screen A bar with the number of tickets, the total and a big Checkout button Automatically
At the very bottom Your address, your email, your phone and your terms Settings → Organisation → Contact

On a phone, the bar with the total stays at the bottom of the screen while your visitor scrolls. The Checkout button is always right under their thumb.

Step 1 — Your logo and your colour

  1. In the menu on the left, click Settings and then Organisation.
  2. Open the Look and feel tab.
  3. Under Your colour, pick the colour of your club or your logo.
  4. Upload your logo under Logo: a square image on a white or transparent background works best.
  5. Click Save.

Without a logo, your shop shows your initials in a white square. If you pick a very light colour, such as yellow, we automatically make the text on your buttons dark so it stays readable.

Are the fields greyed out? Then your plan does not include your own look and feel. Next to the field you can see which plan does.

Step 2 — A cover photo

In the same tab you will find Cover image of your shop. That is the wide photo at the top, across the full width of the screen.

  • Choose a landscape photo at least 1600 pixels wide.
  • A photo of your hall, your building, your audience or your grounds works best.
  • Put no text in it: your name and your sentence already sit on top of it, in white. We darken the bottom of the photo slightly for that.

Without a cover, the top of your shop is a block in your colour with a subtle pattern. It looks tidy, but a real photo says more.

Step 3 — A photo for each event or product

  1. In the menu on the left, click Sales and then Products.
  2. Open a product.
  3. Open the Photo in the shop block and upload a photo.
  4. Click Save.

Use a landscape photo, ideally 1200 by 800 pixels. A photo of the food, the hall or the people sells better than a poster full of text: the date, the place and the price are already on the card.

If a product has no photo of its own, we use the poster from your wallet pass, then the photo of your venue. If there is none of those either, the card shows a block in your colour with an icon: a ticket, a clock for a time slot, a gift for a gift voucher.

Step 4 — A good description

In the same product you will find the Name and description block, with a field for each language. The card shows the first three lines; with Read more your visitor opens the rest.

  • Say in the first sentence what your visitor gets: "Flemish beef stew with fries, soup to start and a dessert buffet."
  • Then add the practical things: the time, the age, what is included.
  • An empty line starts a new paragraph.

What your shop does by itself

  • For an event, the date appears on the photo like a calendar page, with the start time.
  • If you set a maximum, the card says "12 places left", and "Sold out" when it is full.
  • For a time slot, your visitor first picks a day in the calendar and then a time. A green dot means places available, an orange one almost full. See Time slots.
  • For a day ticket, there are buttons for the next days your venue is open: Today, Tomorrow, …
  • The payment methods your connection really offers appear as small logos under the button, with Secure payment. Without a connection nothing appears: we promise nothing that is not true. See Payments.
  • The shop follows the phone's dark mode, and shows itself in the languages you switched on.

After payment

Everything your visitor sees after paying also carries your logo, your cover and your colour:

  • the thank-you page, with their visit (when, where, and a link to directions), each ticket as a card with a large QR code, buttons for Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, the tickets as a pdf and Add to your calendar;
  • under Good to know, your venue's opening hours and the links from the venue guide of your wallet pass: parking, public transport, accessibility;
  • the email with the tickets and the pdf to print.

You do not need to do anything extra. Fill in your opening hours and the venue guide, and they appear by themselves. See Wallet passes.

Frequently asked questions

My photo is cropped

The card shows the photo in a 3 by 2 ratio, a little wider on a phone. Put the most important part in the middle of your photo; the edges may fall away.

How big can a photo be?

Up to 4 MB. A jpg 1200 pixels wide of a few hundred kilobytes is enough: it is sharp on a phone and loads fast, even with poor reception.

Can I just take a photo from the internet?

No, only if you have the right to use it. Use your own photos, or photos from a free image site such as Pexels or Unsplash.
